Age of Empire IV, home stretch before launch

Age of Empire IV has been very low key in recent months, but Shannon Loftis took advantage of the end of the year to give news of his title.

And this news, it's pretty good . Indeed, if we are to believe the statements of the latter, then Age of Empire IV would be fully playable and the development team even plays it ... every day.

Age of Empire IV will be much more realistic

Why? Simply to ensure that every faction, every unit and every skill is balanced.

Age of Empire IV is almost ready

In other words, despite of the current health situation, the project is progressing well and has even just entered its final phase of development. The also means that it is only a matter of weeks or months before it hits the market.

We can therefore reasonably expect a launch in 2021.

Age of Empire IV will not happen alone. Age of Empire II Definitive Edition will also be entitled to a new expansion called Lords of the West with new factions and new units and we should also expect new announcements around Age of Empire III Definitive Edition.

A launch in 2021?

Coming back to Age of Empire IV, the concept will of course remain completely unchanged. The title will put you in command of a nation setting out to conquer the world. A nation that will have to face the other factions in place, all with a single player campaign and a good dose of multiplayer as a bonus.

The visual effects should also be more realistic. In any case, this is what emerged from the gameplay video highlighted.igne in November 2019, a gameplay video that you can find at the end of the article.

It indeed showed richer environments and much more realistic animations, with a lot of work on textures and lighting effects, for greater realism compared to previous titles.

Remember that Age of Empire IV will be released first on PC.
