How to Add Photos to Your iPhone Home Screen

There are some memories that you want to relive and remember forever. The best way to do that is to place them directly on the Home screen of your iPhone. Here's how to add photos to your iPhone home screen using widgets.

With iOS 14 and above , you can add widgets directly to the Home screen . Home screen widgets are quite versatile, and you can see your reminders, calendar and, yes, even photos, right on your home screen.

Apple has a built-in Photos widget that displays random photos from your photo library. if you have 20,000 photos in your iCloud photos, it won't be very useful. It is better to create a widgand customized to display only a specific image or a few of your favorite photos.

This can be done quite easily by using the free Widgetsmith app.

How to create a custom photo widget with Widgetsmith

Widgetsmith allows you to create and customize widgets based on templates. You can use a single photo or an album (which the widget will browse).

After download the Widgetsmith app , open first application and go to Settings> Permissions to grant access permission to Photos.

Now when you go to the "Widgets " tab, you will see that Widgetsmith already has templates for small, medium and large widgets. To create a new widget, press the "Add Widget (Size)" button. Now select a widget you want to edit.

Once again, tap the widget preview from the middle of the 'screen.

Now in the " Style "tab, scroll down until you reach the Custom section.Here you will see two options: Photo and Photos in album.

If youIf you want to add a single photo, choose the "Photo " option.

Tap the "Selected photo " tab and then select the "Choose photo " option.

Now browse your library and select a photo .

After selecting the photo, press "Back " to return to the widget preview.

If you want choose an album, choose the option "Photo in album ".

Then, in the "Selected album " section, choose an album you want to display on your screen home. Press the "Back " button to return to the widget preview screen.

Here, You can rename the widget if you want. Press the "Save " button to save the Then select the "Save" button once more to save the widget.

How to add photo widget to iPhone home screen

Now that we have created the photo widget, it's time to add it to your home screen.

Navigate to the home screen page of your iPhone where you want to add the widget, and press and hold on the home screen Home screen until you enter Home screen edit mode (where the icons start to shake).

Now tap the icon "+" In the upper cornerleft side of the screen.

Here choose the application "Widgetsmith ".

Now, change to the size of the widget you created ci above (small, medium or large) and press the "Add Button Widget" button.

You will now see the Widgetsmith widget on your home screen, but it may not display any photos. To edit the widget, simply tap on it while still in Juggle mode.

From the menu, choose the "Widget " option.

Here, go to the widget we created in the section above.

You will now see your photo (or photos) in the widget. You can move the widget anywhere on the home screen. Now just swipe your finger from the home bar, or press the button Welcome to exit edit mode.

And c 's all. You have just added some photos to the iPhone home screen!

You can repeat this process to create multiple widgets, of multiple sizes. can even stack some photo widgets on top of each other!
