Watching a movie or TV show with a friend on the internet can be a little tedious. Play video at exactly the same time, pause it for bathroom breaks, etc. The “Watch Together” function of Facebook Messenger solves this problem.
What can you actually watch with Facebook Messenger's Watch Together feature? While you can't use popular streaming services like Netflix, they don't support any of the videos found on Facebook's "Watch" tab. This includes videos produced specifically for Facebook and certain TV shows and movies.

First, open the Facebook Messenger app on your iPhone , iPad or Android device . Select the person or chat group you want to watch videos with. You can also press the “ Create a room ” button and invite people to join it.
Then start a voice or video call by tapping "Phone" or "Video" on the top right corner of the app.
Once you are in the call, slide the bottom toolbar up to view more options.
Select" Watch together To start watching a video.
You will see a video tab "Suggested " and a "TV and Movies " tab. Select something to watch and it will start playing.
When the video is playing, it is synchronized with everyone who is watching it. Pausing the video will pause it for everyone. If you are participating in a video call, you will see the call members on the screen as well as the streaming content.
Tap the video to display a search icon to return to the search for video and the option to close the video.
If your phone supports the functiontion Picture-in-Picture , you can exit the application and the video will continue to play in a floating player.
You can now enjoy videos with your friends and family without being in the same room.
