How to implement digital asset management with CoSchedule?
There are four steps you can take to get started implementing CoSchedule Asset Manager. First, you need to configure your hierarchy and the taxonomy of your projects.
Your organization configuration includes color labels, tags and pro ject types. This includes integrating the tools you already have.
Configure Your Organizational System
Organizational structures help you and your team find assets quickly and take the confusion out of where things need to be saved in the future.
CoSchedule is flexible enough to let you customize the environment to meet your exact business needs.
This guide will help you understand different ways to organize your assets and set up your asset organizer in a logical and consistent way.

Color labels
Colored labels represent the highest and most general level of organization of your resources. They are concrete categories that apply to all of your sea assets.keting - which means these categories are not likely to change over time.
These color labels are inherited from the color labels on your calendar.
If you haven't configured them yet, here are some recommendations on how to apply them correctly to meet your needs. your organization:
- By department - If your team regularly creates assets for other departments in your organization zation.
- Ex) Sales, marketing, finance, human resources, communication
- By the sub-marketing team - If your marketing team is divided into sub-departements and has its own work.
- Ex) Product marketing, marketing automation, content marketing, customer marketing
- By product line - If the majority of your marketing projects can be directly related to a specific product line.
- Ex) Diagnostic, surgical, medical, wound care equipment, etc. .
- By industry - Similar to the product line, this is a good option if your marketing projects can be attributed to a specific industry.
- Ex) Oil and gas, energy, manufacturingn, engineering, transport
Here is an example of folders labeled in color in the resource organizer. These colored labels are organized by the internal department for which this marketing team performs the work.
Tags
Tags provide an additional way to filter and track your items.
Think of it this way: Tags are additional categories that you might need to follow, that are not covered by color labels.
Here are some ways tags add value to your asset organizer:
- Provide more context to each item.
- Helps you quickly find all items tagged with a certain keyword.
To start with tags, think of some things you would search for probably to find an image. These are elements that should not be included.read as color label. Here are some examples:
- Product line (if not used as color label)
- Region (if not used as color label)
- Vertical (if it is not used as a color label)
- Industry (if it is not used as a color label)
- Designer who created the image / graphic
- Access rights
Remember: An element only receives one color tag, but it can have multiple tags.
Project types
Project types describe the type of asset being created. Whenever you create a new project in your marketing calendar, that project will also appear in your asset organizer. Some of the standard CoSchedule project types include:
