Apple has never been known to pack massive batteries into its phones, but with the iPhone 12 range, it looks like the power supplies could be even smaller than usual, with the standard iPhone 12 apparently having a smaller battery than the iPhone 11.
This is based on filings with Anatel (the Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency), spotted by Tecnoblog , which indicates that the iPhone 12 has a 2,815mAh battery - this is down from 3,110mAh in the iPhone 11.
Documents also state that the iPhone 12 mini has a 2,227 mAh battery, which is really very small for a smartphone.

In fact, Apple claims that the iPhone 12 will last up to 11 hours of streaming video playback, which is an hour longer than the iPhone 11, although it apparently has a smaller battery. The other battery stats listed are the same for both phones, so it probably won't last much longer, but at least you should expect similar battery life from the iPhone 12.
The iPhone 12 mini, meanwhile, will apparently last for up to 10 hours of streaming video - this is the same as the iPhone 11, although it does does not hold up as long for local video playback (at 3pm compared to iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 's 5pm) or audio playback (at 50 hours, while iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 can handle 65 hours).
Nonetheless, these stats don't look too bad, and they're also believable, because while these batteries may be small, they're paired with a more efficient A14 Bionic chipset than the A13 Bionic found in the iPhone 11 lineup.
In our review, we found that the iPhone 11 has good but not great battery life, and based on the above, it looks like we can expect the same to be true for the iPhone 12, with the mini model slightly behind.
