When Nvidia's RTX 3090 announcement dropped with promises of consistent 4K at 60 fps (frames per second), questions had already arisen as to how far the card's performance could be pushed. In the end, the benchmarks may have finally given you a reason to buy an 8K TV or monitor.
YouTuber ' Bang4BuckPC Gamer 'presented Crysis 3, The Witcher 3, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Final Fantasy XV running on an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090, all games reaching 30 fps in 8K. Since they're always graphically demanding and frequently appear on the "prettiest games" lists, this achievement is no small feat.

Mind-blowing graphics in your favorite games
For Horizon Zero Dawn, the YouTuber used a mix of High and Ultra settings and hit 30 fps, with some minor drops at 27 fps. For Final Fantasy XV, the game ran with DLSS and 35-40fps in native 8K (although Nvidia VXAO had to be disabled, all other options were left enabled).
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is also capable of running The Witcher 3 on Ultra settings in 8K with over 35fps, an incredible achievement when we know that this game works with Nvidia Hairworks (a graphic effect that adds realism to the characters hair, and that can have a huge impact even on the most powerful graphics cards). Finally, Crysis 3 ran with over 40 fps in 8K on high settings. The game has an option for Very High, but it turned out to be particularly trying.
It hardly feels like time has passed since 4K quality was an unachievable aspiration. Now that we've scaled that mountain, 8K seems less of an empty promise on Nvidia's part, despite questions as to whether the resolution jump is really worth the deep pockets it takes to make it happen.
Yet at first glance - with the right screen at hand and a large sum of cash - the RTX 3090 is really capable of 8K in our favorite last-gen games, and we don't. are probably not alone in that we are eager to see the results ourselves.
